Sully Jones Roofing has been in business since 1952 and managed by a veteran team of roofing industry professionals with over 200 years of combined experience in the roofing trade. In addition to providing sound business management practices, the Sully Jones Roofing management team members are hands-on roofing experts.
James Thomson President
With over 47 years of experience in the roofing industry, James provides strong leadership for the company by working with the board and other executives to establish short and long-term goals, plans and strategies. He is responsible for presiding over the entire workforce and manages budgets, making sure resources are properly allocated. James ensures all departments meet their individual goals and is responsible for overall accountability to shareholders and the general public. He has an entrepreneurial mindset and adapts quickly to changes in the marketplace. James encourages business investments from the community and acts as the public face of Sully Jones Roofing. A former member of the Board of Directors of the San Diego Roofing Contractors Association SDRCA) and the Associated Builders & Contractors (ABC), James remains active in the SDRCA, the National Roofing Contractors Association, the San Diego County Apartment Association, the East County Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau of San Diego.
Tina Taylor General Manager
Tina is the decision-making, problem-solving force behind Sully Jones Roofing and has been with the company for 17 years. Her skills are indispensable, which ultimately leads to the optimal efficiency of Sully Jones Roofing. She develops strategic technological and financial opportunities, presenting assumptions and recommending objectives, and by devising new policies that prove beneficial to the goodwill of the organization. Tina increases management’s effectiveness by way of a recruiting process which involves training and orientating through to disciplining managers, planning, monitoring and appraising job results. She develops incentives and a climate for offering information and opinions and provides educational opportunities for staff, as she is always looking to improve overall skill and performance, company-wide. Tina enforces ethical business practices and maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards all the while upholding our Mission Statement. She and her husband David have been married for 13 years and provide a safe, healthy “home” environment for their large collection of animals (over 35 animals, and yes, each and every one of them has a name! From cats to chickens and goats to horses!)
Chris Sawaya Commercial Project Manager
Chris’ 30-year roofing career began as a foreman working on roofs in 1987. From foreman, he moved into estimating and project management in 1994 where he found himself to be a better fit in the roofing industry. Chris prides himself with problem-solving by way of experience, researching and recommending solutions for roofing needs, whether it is in repairs and rehabilitation to extend the life of the roof or to find a new roofing system to fulfill the customer’s needs and budget. Chris shows commitment to the company and also with his long-standing customers by many repeat customers and word of mouth referrals. Chris is active in his local church as well as in several business associations. He is a committed family man and has been married to his beautiful wife Cecilia for 21 years. Together, they have raised a family with 8 amazing children. Chris says “I am always accepting donations for college tuition!”
Ronnie E. Brown Apartment & Maintenance Project Manager
In 1988 Ronnie came to Sully Jones Roofing with 8 years of roofing experience and was hired on as a repairman where he quickly moved up to Crew Foreman and then Field Supervisor. His growth within this company is a tribute to his excellence in direct customer contact, project commencement through completion and follow-up, being on his job-sites, daily along with his extensive knowledge of several types of roofing systems. Being a native San Diegan, Ronnie has great knowledge of the San Diego area and is actively involved with the San Diego Apartment Association (SDAA) where he networks with current customers with whom he has grown very long-lasting working relationships. Ronnie is always reaching out to prospective customers by way of his genuine caring attitude and friendly, approachable manner and stands as one of Sully Jones Roofing most seasoned employees, having dedicated his time with us for 20 years. He and his wife Debbie have been married for 30 years and have raised two wonderful children. Ronnie spends his free time with his family vacationing, boating and camping.
Ed Noon Residential Project Manager
Ed Noon, our newest Project Manager at Sully Jones Roofing comes to us with over 12 years of experience in the roofing industry. “I have given my blood, sweat and tears starting out on the roof, learning the trade.” Ed, being a quick study and modeling his natural skills in the industry, quickly moved up to a foreman position. He is proficient with various types of roofing systems and upholds the Sully-Jones standard of excellence in Customer Care. Though he is in a management position at Sully Jones Roofing, Ed says he still views himself as a roofer because he enjoys the hard work of roofing application and has no problem putting down his clipboard and picking up a nail gun! Ed is upbeat, friendly and very kind and is an absolute pleasure to have on the Sully Jones Roofing team!
Ed has an amazing wife and daughters who constantly show him the importance of family values and a deep appreciation for life in general. Ed is a foodie and enjoys cooking, barbequing and is always looking for new recipes as well as new restaurants to try.
Emily Thomson Corporate Secretary
Emily is the first physical point of contact at Sully Jones Roofing where she greets, advises and directs customers to the appropriate department, exhibiting friendliness and professionalism with coworkers, vendors and suppliers. She demonstrates an executive presence topped with solid corporate communication skills and plays a leading role in shaping the public image of Sully Jones Roofing. She is in alignment with and intuitive to CEO and directors’ line of thinking and possesses the necessary skills to lead and work within a multi-disciplinary setting to achieve consensus. Emily is creative and detail oriented, flexible and maintains an appropriate perspective no matter how pressured a situation. Her approach to daily difficulties is handled with her fun and friendly attitude which keeps the office, always, in good spirits.
Ryan Wells Sales Operations Manager
With over 10 years’ experience in Sales Management, Ryan brings his strengths to Sully Jones Roofing with a level of care that exceeds all expectations with clients and internally as well. He is active in commercial and residential trade shows within the San Diego community. Ryan’s 20 (+) years of computer knowledge encompass a wide variety of problem-solving skills. He determines the technological needs of Sully Jones Roofing and seeks to meet those needs, formulating plans to achieve solutions by recommending and implementing computer hardware, software, and programs. Ryan is a winnowed addition to the team as he performs with professionalism and excellence in direct client contact. He and his wife Stacey have recently begun the journey of parenting with their sweet 2-year-old daughter. Ryan enjoys family trips, watching baseball, hiking, camping and off-roading.
Jenny Bates Personnel Director/Marketing Communications/Service Coordinator
Jenny comes to Sully Jones Roofing with a Business Management and Marketing background as well as 13 years’ experience in the roofing industry, beginning with a small, successful, roofing company in New York. Jenny was hired at Sully Jones Roofing as a data entry administrator and was quickly promoted to Personnel Director of Human Resources. She manages the overall provision of Human Resources services. Within eight months, Jenny was, again, promoted to Marketing Communications Manager while still maintaining the Human Resources detail. Her background has proved valuable to Sully Jones Roofing for recruiting new customers by way of conducting market research, collaborating with cross-functional departments-IT, sales, production, communications strategies, identifying opportunities for customer research, website updates, and social media automation. She is the 9th child of a 10 kid clan and is the mother of two very talented, adult children. Jenny loves creative writing, poetry, drawing, painting, gardening, hiking, camping, off-roading (Jeeps, dirt bikes, quads,) and everything to do with Harley Davidsons.
Kim Pauley (and Sally Jones) Operations Manager
Being involved in the roofing industry for 27 years has given Kim a standard of excellence in customer communications and relations. Kim emulates our Mission Statement to a “T.” She oversees the day-to-day operations of jobs, crews, and locations, supervises field installations and employees, scheduling subcontractors, suppliers and all services associated with all roofing projects. Kim has a deep understanding of office operations, management software, strategic operations initiatives, and logistics and is comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment with the ability to stick to tight timelines. She has a willingness to jump in and roll her sleeves up to help out wherever help is needed. Kim enjoys Country music concerts and horseback riding and is a lover of animals. She is the mother of one and oftentimes will be found with her trusty sidekick (our mascot) Sally Jones by her side.
Jeff Bond Service Project Manager
Jeff is considered our “Clutch-man” always making himself available to assist with various roles within Sully Jones Roofing. He has been involved in the roofing industry since 1989 and is well versed in all aspects of safety. He is responsible for in-house training, safety meetings, and job site safety and upholds the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) laws/regulations in order to minimize accidents and injuries. He goes to great lengths to be available at all hours and when an emergency repair calls him to action, he will provide thoroughness and excellence, remaining there until the work is finished. He prides himself with his attention to Customer Care from project commencement to completion and follow-up, making sure that customer’s needs are met with a profusion of integrity, excellence, and quality. Jeff has been coaching Little League for many years and relishes free time with his family. He is the father of three children and his pride and joy is his granddaughter, the newest member of his family. He enjoys jet skiing, sports, classic cars and Rock concerts.
Kyle McGraw Production Manager
Kyle started with Sully Jones Roofing in 2004 bringing experience in the construction and carpentry trade, as he spent several years as a youth helping his father and uncle on various roofing projects. He was hired as a laborer, working hard and learning through his early years with Sully Jones Roofing. Kyle’s ability to learn quickly and his diligence on the job promoted him within 2 years from laborer to running roofing crews. Kyle spent the next 10 years installing various types of roofing system applications and for the last 2 years, has been in charge of specialty repairs. Due to his keen eye for healthy roofs along with his ability to solve difficult roofing issues, Kyle was promoted to Production Manager. He has a solid understanding of production and overseeing production processes and is well-versed in repairs and maintenance. His duties include quality checking jobs during production and upon completion to ensure each project is to Sully Jones Roofing standards, communicating effectively with labor crews and homeowners so that everyone is aware of the project’s timeline, tracking and resolving production related issues and warranty calls, providing a positive learning environment for employees to foster successful development and site-specific training. He and his lovely fiancée Kristina are enjoying the first stages of their precious newborn daughter Kylie. Kyle loves the beach, camping and the outdoors.
Amber Reardon Service Account Manager
With over 5 years in Property Management and many years of Customer relations and management, we welcome Amber to the Sully-Jones family. Amber kicks off the brand new Service Account Manager position within the Sully Jones Roofing Maintenance Department. She will be attending Trade Shows, Community Events, and will maintain existing relationships, as well as build new client relationships in the Greater San Diego community.
Amber and her husband David have been married for 14 years, and stay involved with their two young daughters-coaching and score-keeping for both softball teams, Girl Scout events, raising a new puppy and more! She loves spending all of her time with family and friends, Camping trips, Padre Games and a multitude of other fun hobbies and activities!
